Neurodiversity Champions Course

We are so excited to let you know that our Neurodiversity Champions Course has been accredited by CPD, and we can run the course and issue a CPD certificate and award 7 CPD hours to delegates on completion of the course.

Our Neurodiversity Champions course, is a comprehensive learning journey designed to build understanding, empathy, and practical action around neurodiversity in the workplace. This course equips you with the knowledge, language, and tools to foster an inclusive, fair, and healthy environment for all colleagues.

Key learning objectives

  • Define and understand neurodiversity and neurodivergence

  • Differentiate neurodivergent, neurotypical, and related concepts

  • Recognize common neurodivergent conditions (e.g., ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, Tourette syndrome, SPD)

  • Appreciate the business and ethical case for neuro-inclusive practices

  • Understand terminology and language, and identify appropriate language when referring to neurodivergent individuals

  • Distinguish between helpful and unhelpful language; practice allyship language and approaches in workplace interactions

  • Recognize preferred language practices (identity-first vs. person-first) and how to respect individual preferences

  • Build knowledge of the legal/policy context (reference to the Equality Act 2010 and protected characteristics; implications for allyship and workplace adjustments)

  • Apply a practical framework for neuro-inclusion and develop a Neurodiversity Action Plan

  • Learn an inclusive environment plan: plan, support, prioritise, communicate

  • Explore workplace adjustments and supports that enable neurodivergent employees to flourish

  • Develop skills to be a Neurodiversity Champion and create personal action plans to advocate for neurodiversity

  • Practice facilitating discussions and activities that promote an inclusive culture

  • Assess and reflect on neurodiversity knowledge through quizzes and discussions

  • Reflect on personal learning and how to apply it in real-work contexts

  • Identify strengths commonly associated with neurodivergent individuals (e.g., focus, pattern recognition, creativity) and the challenges that may require accommodations

CPD accreditation and certificate

  • CPD accreditation: 7 hours of Continuing Professional Development

  • Certification: A CPD certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course

  • The certificate can be used for official records, performance reviews, or continuing education requirements

Who should enroll?

  • Managers, HR professionals, team leads, and anyone who interacts with colleagues or clients

  • People seeking to become Neurodiversity Champions within their teams or departments

  • Professionals aiming to enhance inclusion, collaboration, and performance within diverse groups

I recently completed a three-day training course with Christina James at Sanitas Hub to become a Mental Health First Aid practitioner and Neurodiversity Champion, and I cannot recommend the experience highly enough. Christina delivered the training with exceptional professionalism while maintaining a warm, approachable, and supportive atmosphere throughout.

I attended the 2 day Mental Health First Aider training with Christina at Sanitas Hub. The delivery of the course was exceptional and she really brought the subject to life. Despite it being taught virtually for the 2 days, I was completely engaged and despite some tough subjects, I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to join this course.

I have just completed the MHFA course with Sanitas Hub, provided by Christina James and it was brilliant. She was an amazing instructor, gave lots of real life experiences and brought a positive energy to a difficult subject. Christina was understanding, and provided lots of extra information you cannot find online or in books. I would highly recommend her courses to others.

Christina James is an excellent instructor. After the MHFA course I feel more confident in helping others successfully and most importantly ensuring my own mental health is ok in the process. When it comes to any other related courses or refreshers I would definitely seek her as a tutor!

Highly recommend this course with Christina, she is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to mental health. A very informative & interactive two day training session. Care is taken when heavy subjects are undertaken to make sure everyone takes sufficient breaks & is doing ok. I thoroughly enjoyed it & feel like I have the skills required to go forward as an MHFA.

The course has been lovely, it was very useful to learn the material in the context of Christina's real world lived experience with some of the conditions mentioned on the course, and invaluable to find out best practice tips when approaching such cases. The format was brilliant and interaction in the group was very helpful.
