Ten years in the making. Meet The Sanitas Method

Preview text: Most training tells people what to do. This helps them understand why they react the way they do.

Hi

For over ten years, Sanitas Hub has been helping organisations build healthier workplaces through mental health, neurodiversity and wellbeing programmes.

Along the way, I’ve noticed something.

Most workplace training tells people what to do.

Very little helps people understand why they react the way they do.

Why do some people thrive under pressure while others become overwhelmed? Why do communication styles differ so much? How do emotions, thoughts, our nervous system and neurodiversity influence the way we work?

These questions have stayed with me — and they’ve inspired the development of something new.

Introducing The Sanitas Method™

The Sanitas Method™ is our signature evidence-informed framework, developed to help organisations build emotionally intelligent, neuroinclusive and high-performing workplaces.

Drawing on emotional literacy, CBT principles, mindfulness, breath regulation and immersive learning, The Sanitas Method™ helps people better understand how they think, feel and perform.

Rather than simply teaching people what to do, it develops the self-awareness, emotional regulation and practical skills needed to improve wellbeing, communication, leadership and workplace performance.

How it works: the S·A·N·I·T·A·S framework

The Sanitas Method™ is built around seven practical steps — each one designed to help you pause, reflect and respond with greater awareness and confidence.

S — See the Situation Every positive change begins with awareness. Before reacting, pause and observe what is happening around you and within you — without judgement.

A — Acknowledge Your Thoughts and Emotions Name what you’re thinking and feeling. Naming emotions develops emotional literacy and creates space between your feelings and your actions.

N — Notice Your Body Our bodies often recognise stress before our minds do. Tune into your breathing, posture and physical sensations — and use that awareness to begin regulating your nervous system.

I — Investigate Your Thinking Explore your thoughts with curiosity rather than criticism. Using CBT-informed principles, consider whether your thinking is balanced, accurate and helpful.

T — Transform Your Perspective Choose a response that reflects your values rather than your immediate emotions. Move from automatic reaction to thoughtful, intentional action.

A — Apply Positive Action Awareness creates understanding. Action creates change. Choose one practical step — whether that’s a breathing technique, an open conversation, or asking for support.

S — Sustain Growth Personal growth happens through consistent reflection and practice. Celebrate progress, learn from challenges and continue building healthier habits over time.

See with awareness. Acknowledge with honesty. Notice with curiosity. Investigate with compassion. Transform with confidence. Apply with purpose. Sustain for life.

This isn’t about adding another wellbeing programme.

It’s about giving people the tools to communicate effectively, regulate their emotions, embrace neurodiversity and build resilience — together.

Over the coming months I’ll be sharing more about The Sanitas Method™ — the thinking behind each step, how it works in practice and how it can support your organisation to create a healthier, more inclusive workplace.

This is just the beginning.

Thank you for being part of the Sanitas Hub journey.

I recently completed a three-day training course with Christina James at Sanitas Hub to become a Mental Health First Aid practitioner and Neurodiversity Champion, and I cannot recommend the experience highly enough. Christina delivered the training with exceptional professionalism while maintaining a warm, approachable, and supportive atmosphere throughout.

I attended the 2 day Mental Health First Aider training with Christina at Sanitas Hub. The delivery of the course was exceptional and she really brought the subject to life. Despite it being taught virtually for the 2 days, I was completely engaged and despite some tough subjects, I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to join this course.

I have just completed the MHFA course with Sanitas Hub, provided by Christina James and it was brilliant. She was an amazing instructor, gave lots of real life experiences and brought a positive energy to a difficult subject. Christina was understanding, and provided lots of extra information you cannot find online or in books. I would highly recommend her courses to others.

Christina James is an excellent instructor. After the MHFA course I feel more confident in helping others successfully and most importantly ensuring my own mental health is ok in the process. When it comes to any other related courses or refreshers I would definitely seek her as a tutor!

Highly recommend this course with Christina, she is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to mental health. A very informative & interactive two day training session. Care is taken when heavy subjects are undertaken to make sure everyone takes sufficient breaks & is doing ok. I thoroughly enjoyed it & feel like I have the skills required to go forward as an MHFA.

The course has been lovely, it was very useful to learn the material in the context of Christina's real world lived experience with some of the conditions mentioned on the course, and invaluable to find out best practice tips when approaching such cases. The format was brilliant and interaction in the group was very helpful.
